At HoneyColoring, we think about the environmental impact of what we do — even as a digital-first website focused on printable content. Here’s where we stand and what we’re doing.
The Nature of What We Do
Coloring pages are printed on paper. That’s the reality of our product, and we embrace it — but we also think it’s worth being honest about the environmental footprint and offering guidance to reduce it.
Tips for Eco-Friendly Printing
We encourage our users to print responsibly:
- Print only what you’ll use — browse and decide before printing
- Use both sides of the paper — many printers support duplex printing
- Use recycled paper — most standard recycled paper works perfectly for coloring pages
- Print in draft mode — for coloring pages, draft/economy ink settings are usually fine and use less ink
- Reuse printed pages — let kids color the same page multiple times with different color schemes, or use the back as scratch paper
- Go digital — our pages can also be colored digitally on tablets using apps like Procreate or Adobe Fresco
Our Website’s Carbon Footprint
We make efforts to keep our website lean and efficient:
- Optimized images — we compress images to reduce file sizes and bandwidth usage
- Efficient hosting — we use hosting providers that maintain modern, energy-efficient infrastructure
- Minimal bloat — we avoid unnecessary scripts and heavy frameworks that increase page load times and energy use
AI & Content Creation
Some of our coloring pages are created with AI-assisted tools. We acknowledge that AI image generation has an energy cost. We aim to use these tools efficiently and only generate content we actually publish.
Our Commitment
We’re a small independent website, not a corporation — but that doesn’t mean sustainability isn’t our responsibility. We commit to:
- Being honest about our environmental impact
- Continuously looking for ways to reduce our footprint
- Giving users the information they need to make eco-conscious choices
